Tenuta di Papena is a charming wedding venue ideal for intimate, romantic and country-chic wedding ceremonies. The venue is located in a 300 hectares farm and on site the family of the owners live too. The closest airports are Florence, Pisa and Perugia (all within 2 hours driving maximum).

The tenuta is strategically located close to the outstanding San Galgano Abbey (5km away), where a civil ceremony could be held (symbolic ceremony are not allowed) and to the Chapel of Montesiepi ( for the religious rite) with its authentic ‘Sword in the Stone’. A symbolic ceremony may be organized in the gardens of the Tenuta or in a grain field, which is ideal for the Spring months. The wedding reception instead can be organized in the hamlet Court or by the swimming pool with its stunning view on the lovely Tuscany landscape . In case of bad weather, two indoor rooms, restored respecting the traditional tuscan style, may host the event (Maximum 60 people; for larger number of guests a marquee may be needed).

We do not have an internal cater so we work with some very trusted however we are always opened if You would like to take your own.

Tenuta di Papena can accomodate up to 20 adults plus 4 kids (in sofa beds), divided into 6 apartments:

• Rosmarino Apt: one double bedroom, a kitchen-living room with double sofa bed and fireplace, bathroom with shower.
• BasilicoApt: one double bedroom, a kitchen-living room with single sofa bed and fireplace, bathroom with shower.
• Salvia Apt: one double bedroom, one single bedroom, a kitchen-living room with d sofa and fireplace, bathroom with shower.
• Impetella Apt: one double bedroom, one triple bedroom, a kitchen-living room with double sofa and fireplace, bathroom with shower.
• Timo Apt: two double bedroom, a kitchen-living room with double sofa and fireplace, bathroom with shower.
• Girasole Apt: two double bedroom, a kitchen-living room with double sofa and fireplace, bathroom with shower. Private terrace.

Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen where a proper meal can be prepared and its own outdoor area with garden furniture. At guests disposal will be barbecues. Please note that fireplace must be kept closed from April to October; as an exception, the ones in the indoor rooms can be used all over the year. During the stay we can provide additional villa services in order to make their stay even more comfortable and pleasant, such as:

• mid-week cleaning;
• laundry service;
• breakfast/Tuscan meals/barbecue/brunch/pizza party/welcoming aperitif
• wine tour and other recreational activities

On request we can organize daily breafast for the whole group, for a minimum of 2 days.

SEASON RATES AND RENTAL CONDITIONS

Mid Season: May, June and September

High Season: July and August

Prices includes a 10% commssion for all the wedding planners. The commission is given to the first agency or agent who introduces, recommends or presents Tenuta di Papena to the clients.

We don’t offer commissions on the following services:

• all meals including the wedding reception and dinner, if provided from our reccommended catering
• cooking classes, wine tasting and any related services
• all supplements or extra charge or damage costs
• all services required by guests during their stay (i.e. extra cleaning, linen replacement, baby sitting, laundry, transports, laundry)

For all these services we will provide NET confidential rates. The wedding planner can add a fee on top of our rates.

The rental prices includes:

all charges: electricity, gas, water, WiFi connection in the common areas. Linen and towels.

The following are not included in the price and must be paid by cash:

• Heating €100,00 per day
• Final Cleaning €250,00
• Breakfast €12,00 per person per day

• In order to secure a booking we require a 30% deposit to be paid trough wire transfer or PayPal within 7 days from the booking confirmation. A Visa/Mastercard credit card number is always required at booking, no matter the chosen downpayment method.
The credit card details will be secured throughout the stay and will be shredded after balance payment. A Security deposit of €1000.00 in cash is required and refunded in full upon departure if no damage has occurred.

Other external catering from our recommended ones are always wellcome and we do not require an extra fee. In case of events with more than 30 people, the Bar service with barman is required for the whole length of the party.

How many people can stay at Tenuta di Papena?

We can host a maximum 20 adults and 4 kids divided into 6 apartments for a total of 8 double bedroom, 1 triple bedroom and one single bedroom

What is the minimum stay?

For the exclusive rental of the property we require a minimum stay of two nights in Mid season and a minimum stay of three nights in high season

What is included in the rental?

The rental price is inclusive of all charges (electricity, water, gas) and tax (VAT) and normal household supplies (linen, toiletry).

What is not included?

The rental price do not include any meal or breakfast, any daily cleaning, any transportation etc

Can you have a legal civil ceremony at the venue?

No, legal ceremony can be held at the Abbey of San Galgano, at Chiusdino Town Hall or at Siena Town Hall

What is the booking procedure?

You will receive a copy of our booking confirmation for the exclusive rental ofTenuta di Papena. If you agree with that you will send a signed copy along the payment of a deposit. The deposit required is 30% of the entire rental cost until 12 months prior check in date and 30% of the entire rental cost within 12 months prior check in date. The balance is due 2 months prior the check in date. The deposit are not refundable.

What is the cancellation policy?

We will charge 30% of the entire rental to cancellation received 12 months prior the checkin date. We will charge 30% of the entire rental to cancellation received between 12 to 2 months prior the checkin date. We will charge 100% of the entire rental to cancellation received with 2 months prior the checkin date.

 Is there any restriction in playing music at night?

Music can played until Midnight outdoor and auntil 2:00 am indoor; the outdoor limit can be extended up to 2:00am with an extra of €300,00.

Are nearby any other accomodations for guests not staying at Tenuta di Papena?

Yes, within 7/8 kms there are plenty of other accomodation.
